What does Pero mean?

Practice Version

Pero:
but. pero. In Spanish, "pero" means "but" and is used to contrast ideas.
Example:
Pero means “but” in Spanish. Picture a giant pear blocking your doorway: “I’d go outside, BUT… there’s a PEAR—OH!” That goofy “pear-oh” sounds a bit like pero (PEH-roh). Imagine that pear interrupting your plans whenever you need a “but”: “Quiero salir, pero llueve” = “I want to go out, but it’s raining.”
